ZB and J – Exciting new Daloy Works and more!

We are up to something new!
As the year comes to an end, Daloy Dance Company closes its 2016 season with the dance showcase: ZBJ.
ZBJ will debut three new choreographies by senior members and upcoming choreographers: Zyda Baaya, Buboy Raquitico and Jared Jonathan Luna.
ZB&J will also feature the Philippine premiere of Je te Haime by international guest artists Arthur Bernard Bazin and Candelaria Antelo, also known as HURyCAN.
Je te Haime won the Best Dance Performance award in the 27th Internacional Feria Huesca.

Daloy Dance Companies’ new choreographers:
Known for her long limbs and magnetic stage presence, Zyda has been studying dance since age five in Nila Claravall-Gonzales dance school in Ilo-ilo. She has danced with Romancion and SEVEN  before joining Daloy Dance Company and have competed at WIFI Body 5 Young Choreographers Cup and represented the Philippines in Yokohama Dance Collection X. She worked as a professor in De La Salle-College of S. Benilde-School Of Design and Arts for Character dance and Choreography and also choreographed for the musicals Sons of Egypt, Robinhood the Musicale, Trapped and Pierre Romacon
Jared is the first Filipino Scholar in the Erasmus Mundus Masters Course: Choreomundus: International Masters in Dance Knowledge, Practice and Heritage, taken in Norway, France, Hungary and UK (2012-2014). He is  aproffesors at The University of the Philippines, but most nights he is in dance training. Among his dance and chroeography credits are- guest artist for the London staging of Suse Tietjen Tanzorchester’s  Stimmen der Wasser  (2014), choreography- Call to the Spirits  for Roehampton University’s Footprint Dance Festival (2014) and  choreography and performance –ReAnimate: Drawings on Walls  in Roehampton University’s Michaelis Theatre(2014)

A recepient of the KOREA DANCE ASSOCIATION AWARD in Korea International Modern Dance Competition in 2015, Buboy is known for his mad skills in improvisation and distinct style of movement. Coming from a strong hip-hop background, he has choreographed pieces for university-based dance groups and other corporate and non-profit organizations: collaboration with world music ensemble, Ustemundo of University of Sto. Tomas during the Pasinaya 2014 at Cultural Center of the Philippines; MedGroove competition pieces for St. Luke’s Dance Company for three consecutive years; directed and choreographed for “Sayawikain,” an annual dance production of the UST College of Music Dance Troupe; organized a flash mob choreography for Save the Children’s “2014 Race for Survival,” an advocacy event to end malnutrition
